

Camp Agawam
Founded in 1919, Camp Agawam is a traditional, 7-week residential camp for boys located on beautiful Crescent Lake, 30 miles from Portland. Agawam prioritizes youth development and character development through a wide variety of traditional camp activities including archery, arts and crafts, baseball, canoeing, wilderness tripping, kayaking, dramatics, lacrosse, nature study, riflery, high and low ropes, sailing, windsurfing, soccer, swimming, snorkeling, tennis, photography and woodshop. Staff are highly competent and well trained with an emphasis on both mentoring boys and activity instruction. Agawam enjoys a high return rate among campers and staff and a loyal alumni base. Excellent facilities include many updated and new buildings including dining room, kitchen, lodge, bathrooms, basketball and tennis courts and athletic fields.

My best camp memory was my first time ever skippering a sailing race against other camps. I had learned to sail and race at camp and although I had been a crew in the boat for the while, it was my first time skippering. I was able to race to 1st places which boosted my confidence as a sailor and made me love the activity even more. |
