Maine camps continue to be one of the best-kept secrets in the country. No other region has the same quality, number and history of overnight camps. Each year more than 20,000 campers experience Maine summer camps. That’s more than two million alumni.
Maine Camp Experience (MCE) members represent a community of established, experienced camp owners, dedicated to providing children with the highest quality summer camp experiences that parents want and expect. These member camps teach children the life skills they need to succeed as young adults; self-esteem, independence, communication, collaboration and problem solving. Maine camps share common ideals and values which help young people to grow and mature. Maine is where camps belong.
Maine camp directors are highly regarded camp leaders, many of whom represent their family’s second or third generation in the camping industry. Many of these directors started as campers and counselors themselves.
MCE directors have a total of 800 years of camp experience.
Maine summer camps become your child’s second home—where your child will flourish in a safe, fun and peaceful environment.
Maine camps are the best of the best with years of experience behind them. Pine trees, beaches, lakes, lighthouses, and deep blue skies are all welcoming sights when you arrive. Generations of families return to the same Maine camps because they are such a positive experience for their children.
For me Camp Winona means an opportunity to be who I am, for me to express myself and be myself without worrying about being judged by others.
