A Thanksgiving Treat from Maine Camp Experience!
November 19, 2019
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, which means that pretty soon we’ll be gathering around with family and friends to enjoy delicious meals and treats in the company of those we love. While Thanksgiving might not be a summer holiday (even if my Maine Camp Experience camp has ‘Turkey Dinner’ on Sundays), it does present a great opportunity to get kids involved in the kitchen. One of the best parts of spending a summer at camp in Maine is that it provides a hands-on environment. From traditional arts and crafts, to activities like ceramics, blacksmithing, or jewelry making, to great culinary arts programs, kids have plenty of chances at Maine Camps to put their creative skills to the test. So in the spirit of summer camp, why don’t you let your campers get active in the kitchen and contribute to your Thanksgiving dinner? With that in mind, here is a great, easy dessert recipe – you’ll be thankful for how easy these Cranberry Crescent Rolls are to make, and how yummy they taste!
Cranberry Crescent Roles
Ingredients:
- Packages of uncooked crescent rolls
- Can of jellied cranberry sauce (one 14 oz can for 45 rolls) Prep:
- Lay out the crescent rolls flat
- Scoop one spoonful of cranberry sauce on the wide wend of each crescent
- Roll up the crescents
- Bake according to the crescent roll package directions (usually 375o F for 11 – 13 minutes) And that’s it, they’re that easy! You can enjoy these delicious cranberry crescent rolls as a scrumptious side or a delicious dessert, and your camper will get to be proud of their contribution to the Thanksgiving table.
