Happy (almost) Thanksgiving to our Maine Camp family! As we reflect on the things we are most thankful for, our summers in Maine always make the list— if not top the list! Beyond the amazing experiences our campers, counselors and directors have each summer in the beauty of Maine— from hikes, to swims in the lake, to campfires under the stars— every year around Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the part of camp that we are most thankful for: the community.Though we love our picturesque camps in general, our Maine camps would be nothing without the special people who make Maine camp happen. Every camper, counselor, parent, director, support staff member, camp supply partners, and more make up an essential part of our wonderful Maine camp communities, and we at Maine Camp Experience (MCE) love to remind ourselves just how lucky we are to be a part of this. While we know that for many, Thanksgiving this year is quite different than other years, and perhaps a tad disappointing, we believe Thanksgiving, no matter where you are or who you are able to come together with, is a time to think about being grateful. While we take this time to reflect on our love of Maine camps and the connections and community that it brings us, we at MCE urge you to reach out to those for whom you are thankful — especially your camp friends!Camp teaches us so many things each summer, but perhaps most importantly right now, camp teaches us to see the glass half full in any situation, maintain a positive attitude, and be thankful for all that we have. So, as we embark on another holiday impacted by these unprecedented times in our world, call on your campers for the support, joy and gratefulness that they learn each summer at camp. We know there is no one better equipped! We wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, look forward to being at Maine camp this summer, and thank you for being a part of the community for which we are so thankful. — Maine Camp Experience Resources & Tools
