Family Camp at Maine Camps: An Incredible Family Vacation
January 26, 2021
As we get through this winter, families are planning ahead to summer vacation – they want something to look forward to in the warmer weather. Family Camp at Maine Camp Experience Camps is a perfect family vacation and another great way to enjoy Maine Camps. Families have shared that what they love about Maine Family Camp is the laid back, campy vibe, the fun activities, and the quality time they get to spend together in nature, creating special memories. And, with everything included and onsite, it’s just easy! Plus, Family Camp is a good option for these times because families spend a lot of time outdoors, safely distanced from others, and Maine Camps are following all CDC and Maine State travel guidelines and Covid safety protocols. What Is Family Camp? After the traditional camper season ends in August, some of our Maine Camp Experience overnight camps host Family Camp so the whole family can enjoy. Each family books their own cabin and gets to experience an incredible array of activities ranging from sailing on the lake, to playing tennis, to making friendship bracelets and tie dying, to nighttime activities like talent shows, lobster bakes and campfire S’mores. Who Is Family Camp Good For? Family camp is good for … everyone! It’s nice for nuclear families and it’s great for extended families. It’s an easy place to gather and spend time as your core family or with grandparents or cousins, aunts and uncles, or friends who are like family. It’s good for active people who enjoy round-the-clock activities like ropes courses, horseback riding, and sunset swims, and it’s good for people who prefer a more restful state - reading a book on the dock at the lake or taking a leisurely stroll through the grounds. Family camp is great for families who want to enjoy a vacation AND can also be good for families who would like their children to “dip their toe into the water” to see what overnight camp is all about and explore it as an option prior to becoming a camper in ensuing summers. What Does It Include & What Does It Cost? Family Camp at Maine Camps includes accommodations, activities, and meals. Pricing starts at around $1,600 for a family of four. Young children are free. Most cabins are for families of four or five, however, there are also larger cabins to accommodate bigger groups of 10+ who want to stay together. When Is It? Maine Camps offer shorter sessions of three or four nights up to full stays of up to five nights/six days. Dates range from August 15-25* depending on which camp. *Contact: for dates/rates/options.
