Peace, Love, & Happiness at Maine Camps
January 19, 2021
With all the challenges we’ve faced in the past year, it’s good to know kids can find their “happy place” at Maine Camp Experience (MCE) overnight camps. Campers enjoy peace in their surroundings, and experience love and happiness in their activities and in the bonds they form. We at MCE checked in with some Maine campers to see what “peace, love, and happiness” means to them; here’s what they shared: Peace – sailing on our camp lake; making friendship bracelets and relaxing in the cabin during rest hour; biking on the camp trails Love – caring directors and counselors; scoring a goal in soccer; special events like “Silent Dinner” during Color War that make camp extra fun! Happiness – when the bus we’re sitting on pulls into camp and we know we’re going to have a great summer; being silly with our friends; eating treats from the cooking studio or when our favorite camp meal is served in the dining hall So, while peace and love are characterized by different things to different campers – we know they can all find their happiness at Maine Camps!
