Play Ball! Baseball and Softball at Maine Camps
April 5, 2022
Warming temps and sunny spring days let us know baseball season is here again! Major League Baseball’s Opening Day is this week and as we all “root root root for the home team” we also think about how much we love baseball and softball at Maine Camps.
Baseball and softball are among campers’ favorite activities. There’s nothing like the crack of the bat hitting a great line drive or a huge fly ball deep into the outfield, or making that inning-ending catch. And, crossing home base to score a run is always a celebration with lots of high fives and cheers.
Campers receive incredible instruction in hitting, pitching, fielding, and catching, often taught by collegiate athletes. Baseball and softball games are played as intracamp leagues, as well as intercamp games. Games are played during the day and under the lights. Whether campers come as top-notch players from home or want to learn anew, there are opportunities for everyone who wants to play baseball and softball.
In addition to learning the skills to play baseball and softball, campers are learning to be a part of a team. They communicate, work together, celebrate wins, and overcome losses.
So catch that baseball fever and get ready to batter up for sunny days on Maine Camp pine-tree-lined fields very soon!
