About Maine Teen Camp
Established in 1984, Maine Teen Camp (MTC) is a progressive summer camp for teenagers only (12 - 17) that retains the sense of community and belonging of a traditional camp, but without the social barriers for a teen starting at a more traditional, broader age-range camp. Our focus is on the unique developmental and social needs of teenagers. The camp population is 225 campers per session, all between the ages of 12-17. MTC is a multicultural community, representing campers from all over the USA and the world. Our campers are placed in cabin groups according to grade levels in school. Our campers experience a broad range of activities, make new friends, and meet new challenges in a supportive and safe environment. MTC is a private, family owned overnight camp, located in beautiful south-western Maine. The property is almost completely surrounded by water. Our main lodge is the focal point of camp, overlooking Stanley Pond. Our mission is to provide each individual with a diverse camp experience in a safe and supportive environment that promotes emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development. MTC aims to improve confidence, resilience and independence; provide the motivation to explore new opportunities; and develop leadership abilities. Collectively this fosters a summer of personal growth, challenges, friendships, and adventure. Maine Teen Camp and its staff empower campers to make good choices and become successful community members and responsible and resilient young adults.
