In addition to wonderful team sports, Maine campers enjoy a variety of top-notch individual sports opportunities including tennis, rock climbing, BMX bike riding, golf and more! When it comes to golf, several Maine Camps offer great golf programs accessing facilities onsite and nearby.

Some Maine Camps have their own driving range, putting green and short course onsite. For example, one Maine Camp has over 20 driving stations where campers can practice big drives, hit from sand bunkers, and practice their short game. That camp features a nine-hole, par-three course with holes, ranging from 40 to 120 yards. Another Maine Camp has a four-hole course onsite so campers can really learn and practice the game. Another Maine Camp features a par 3 pitch and putt where campers can work on their short game. They can also practice their technique in golf cages and play on a nine-hole putting green.

Onsite facilities and instruction are complemented with out-of-camp golf trips so campers can really get a feel for the links on premier local Maine courses in areas including Naples and Belgrade Lakes.

A great thing about golf is that campers can easily see their improvement throughout the summer. Some campers come as beginners who are starting with the fundamentals of golf with basic skills instruction in which clubs to use, how to swing, and more. Others play at Maine Camps to enhance their strokes, drives, and short games to help them play on their school teams, in leagues, and beyond.

Maine Camp golf instructors have previous experience either teaching golf or playing at a high level. They understand the development needs of youth and teach campers not only the skills needed to play a good game of golf but also about sportsmanship. They relate to campers in a positive manner and serve as role models who teach, guide, and inspire.

Children gain skills for life as Maine campers and golf is a great example of something they can learn young, hone throughout their camper years, and take what they’ve learned into their adult years.

So … may the fores be with you. Tee up and let’s play golf at Maine Camps!
