Costumes at Maine Camps
October 31, 2023
There’s something so magical and fun about dressing up for Halloween that kids (and even adults) look forward to all year long. The really, really fun thing about going to camp in Maine is that campers and counselors don’t have to wait ‘til October since there are many opportunities to dress up throughout the summer. Campers and counselors really express themselves and have fun!
Some camps have Halloween in summer where campers bring a costume with them to dress up. Other events that call for costumes abound, including: Flower Power/Hippy Days, Neon Dance parties, Luaus, Camp Spirit Days and team events like Olympics, Pajama Day, Carnival, Themed Socials, special holidays like July 4th, and many more. Campers love to don wacky wigs, fabulous face paint, and crazy costumes. While some have actual, real costumes, others love to assemble and create costumes, which may include fashioning items from duct tape, supplies from arts and crafts, and even leaves and twigs from Maine’s nature. Camp plays and musicals is another great way campers get to dress up and our camps have wonderful costumes for everything from The Little Mermaid to Newsies to Grease and more. Dressing up is one of many great reasons why Maine Camp summers are so much fun!
Wishing everyone a fun and safe Halloween! We can’t wait to see our campers and counselors in costumes this summer!
