Camp T-Shirt Day!
November 7, 2023
It’s Camp T-Shirt Day! A day to wear your camp shirt to show your pride for your camp and be a part of your camp’s community, as well as the larger Maine Camps community. Wearing your camp shirt symbolizes your love for and excitement about the place you spend your summers. Maine Camps are the place that so many make lifelong camp friendships, have fun, gain life skills, gain confidence and independence, get off screens and into Maine’s beautiful nature, participate in incredible traditions and special events, and take memorable trips. Maine Camps are the place that so many call their summer “home away from home.” Many Maine campers begin their camp journey touring Maine Camps around age 6 and then enroll and attend their first camp summer at age 7. Oftentimes, campers return year after year as campers for 8 years or more where experiences and connections deepen summer after summer. Many return as counselors, eager to carry on traditions and to spend more time in their favorite place in the world. Maine campers love the incredible array and top-notch instruction in land and water sports, arts, and nature activities. They enjoy the temperate climate and they love the geographic diversity of campers and staff where they connect with people from all over the US and from around the world. Skills learned and connections made at Maine Camps start as campers and lead into college years and life beyond. Maine campers connect in careers - and even marriages! With all these great experiences, it’s no wonder Maine campers and counselors will proudly wear their camp shirts today (and throughout the year, too!). So wear your camp shirt. Take and post a picture. Tag @mainecamps on Instagram (@mainecampexperience on Facebook), as well as tagging your camp and @camptshirtday. We look forward to seeing the web flooded with Maine Camp love. xoxoxo
