Pre-Camp at Maine Camps
May 25, 2023
Just as camp families at home are prepping for the coming camp summer, our Maine Camps are doing their spring cleaning and set up, which is referred to as Pre-Camp or Pre-Season. During this phase, teams are further beautifying the camp grounds and setting the stage for all the amazing activities, traditions, and fun that will take place throughout the summer once campers arrive.
Pre-Camp includes clearing excess foliage from sports fields, and around the lake, cabins, and other indoor facilities. It’s painting cabins, setting up beds and dressers, and tackling projects like building new decks and pavilions. It’s loading the docks into the clear, beautiful Maine lakes, and planting flowers and greenery. It’s stocking the kitchen for the thousands of meals that will be served and setting up dozens and dozens of tables, chairs and benches for the meals camp communities will share. It’s filling the health center with all the necessary supplies to care for our kids.
It’s receiving deliveries of sports equipment, sailboats, horses, art supplies, and so much more! It’s setting up ropes courses and rock walls. It’s resurfacing and repainting lines on the courts, and setting up nets at tennis, pickleball, basketball, and volleyball. It’s putting the bases out for baseball and softball and so much more - everything to ensure an action-packed, fun, safe summer for our campers! We’re extremely thankful for the beautiful natural Maine environs that set the backdrop for all the summer fun, and for our business partners who provide goods and services for top-notch camper experiences.
Camp summer 2023 is less than a month away and we know great things are coming! Next up will be the staff arrivals and training, and then the campers will come! Maine Camp summer 2023 is getting closer and closer, and we can’t wait!
