Games at Maine Camps
September 26, 2023
Opehlia - we felt ya … all weekend long with the heavy rain, which kept us inside for days on end. The default for many was retreating solitarily for more mindless screen time - watching TV and scrolling social media. This really makes us appreciate and yearn for camp where games are plentiful, engaging, creative, social, and fun!
At Maine Camps, rain or shine, games are an integral part of having fun and interacting with camp friends. From board games to bingo and many beyond, playing games with camp friends makes even a rainy day feel fun. We asked campers what some of their favorite games are at camp, and here’s what they shared:
- Charades - Pictionary - Card games - Pick up sticks - Mad Libs - Hand clap games - Ping pong/table tennis tournamentsIn addition to these games, there are tons of crafts that campers can do with supplies from their cabins and at arts and crafts, they can create awesome projects in woodworking studios, make delicious treats at cooking, create music in studios, play tons of indoor sports like basketball, and the list goes on.
So … next time it rains, channel some of that camp game fun! Ask your camper to teach you some of his/her favorites and game on!
