Maine Campers Explore the Great Outdoors
July 29, 2025
Campers are exploring Maine’s great outdoors! We’re in trip mode and thousands of campers are enjoying the coastline, mountains, lakes, rivers, and more in Maine, New England, and beyond.
When kids attend camp in Maine, not only do they experience pristine lakes and pine-tree lined fields and forests at camp, but also picturesque environs for incredible out-of-camp trips. Trips often start out closer to camp and for shorter stays and then progress with the age groups.
Campcraft and wilderness adventure programs at Maine Camps teach campers how to set up tents, make campfires, experience campfire cooking, rafting, hiking, biking, rock climbing, fishing, learning about nature’s flora and fauna, and much more.
Here are just a few of the incredible day and multi-day trips Maine campers take:
- Maine coastline exploration from Bar Harbor and Camden to Portland and Kennebunkport
- Hiking at Acadia National Park, Mount Washington, Mount Katahdin, Baxter State Park, Holt Pond Preserve, and Pondicherry Park
- Boothbay Harbor for a scenic walk across the Boothbay Harbor Footbridge, and visits to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Maine State Aquarium, and historic lighthouses
- White water rafting and canoeing on the Kennebec River and the Androscoggin River
- Harbor cruising in Boston
- Whale watching in Cape Cod
- Hiking the White Mountains of New Hampshire and southern Maine, including waterfalls
- Exploring sights and tastes of Montreal and Quebec
- Beach trips to Old Orchard Beach and Popham Beach
Trips like these, as well as berry picking, lobster boating, and more, give campers the chance to enjoy beaches, mountains, woods, lakes, rivers, and other natural attractions. Campers build skills, independence, confidence, and friendships while exploring the great outdoors. Campers make unforgettable memories on these incredible trips!
