From the first strum of a guitar to the final curtain call of fantastic theater productions, music is woven into the rhythm of daily Maine Camp life, and campers of all ages have the chance to discover their own beat. Whether a seasoned performer or a first-time player, every camper has the opportunity to dive into the world of music in fun, creative ways. Maine Camp music programs buzz with energy, excitement, and discovery!

Play On! Instruments Galore

Campers explore a wide variety of instruments, with many trying out something brand new for the first time. Guitars, drums, keyboards, flutes — you name it, we play it! Our music studios and stages are filled with the sounds of collaboration as campers jam together, learn new skills from counselors, build confidence with every note, and put on exciting performances.

Find Your Voice

From solo performances to group sing-alongs, the power of voice is front and center. Whether it’s belting out camp favorites around the fire or harmonizing in performances, our singers bring heart and soul to every day.

Campfire Songs

No Maine Camp summer would be complete without legendary campfires, and music is the heartbeat of those special nights. With guitars in hand and stars overhead, campers gathered to sing classic tunes, new favorites, and original songs they’d written themselves. The warmth of the fire and the power of shared music create moments of connection and tradition that campers will never forget.

Music Meets Tech

Maine campers also get hands-on with music-making software, creating original beats, loops, and tracks. Digital music studios - a space where creativity met technology and campers could produce their own soundtracks from scratch - are abuzz with exciting sounds.

Theater Takes the Stage

Of course, music wouldn’t be complete without a little drama — the good kind! Maine Camp theater productions are a highlight of the summer. Campers take to the stage in musicals that blend acting, singing, and dancing into unforgettable performances.

More Than Just Notes

What made the music program so special this year wasn’t just the instruments, or the songs, or even the shows — it was the sense of joy and expression it brought out in our campers. Music became a way to connect, to express emotion, to try something new, and to simply have fun. Some camp cabins even have “DJ” as a job on the work wheel. Music gives campers a voice — sometimes literally — and memories that will echo long after the summer ends.

As we say goodbye to another amazing season at Maine Camps, the songs and sounds still play in our minds. From quiet melodies in a cool little practice spot to full-on performances in front of the whole camp, music was everywhere — and it truly made this summer sing. Until next year, keep the music alive! 🎵
