Spring musicals are in full bloom, and school stages are alive with energy as students show off their acting, dancing, and singing chops. Seeing a local production of A Chorus Line was impressive and exciting—and a great reminder of how special these experiences are.

At Maine Camps, kids have so many opportunities to sing, dance, and act. It’s wonderful for those who already love the stage—and especially surprising and exciting when campers discover talents they (and we!) didn’t know they had.

When campers participate in shows, they have fun, come alive, build confidence, and develop camaraderie. They become part of a creative community, working together to bring a show to life—and even become mini celebrities at camp as audiences cheer them on.

And it’s not just the actors! It’s the musicians playing piano, guitar, and more. It’s the costumers, stage makeup artists, set builders, stagehands, and beyond. Everyone can get involved and feel proud of what they create.

These stories and songs stay with us forever. Even if you’ve never seen them on Broadway, you’ll always remember them from camp. From Annie, The Little Mermaid, Frozen, and Back to the Future, to Little Shop of Horrors, Shrek, Matilda, and Newsies, the memories last a lifetime.

Congratulations, and break a leg to all the kids in their school shows right now. We can’t wait to see the curtain rise on our Maine Camp musicals and plays this summer!
